Job Summary:
The Golf Coach is responsible for instructing and coaching student-athletes in the sport of golf. They will develop and implement training programs, provide guidance and support to enhance players' skills, and foster a positive team culture. The Golf Coach will promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual growth while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize, and conduct effective golf practice sessions and training programs.
2. Instruct student-athletes on proper golf techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
3. Assess players' skills and abilities to identify areas for improvement, and provide personalized coaching to enhance performance.
4. Develop and implement individualized training plans to address specific needs and goals of each player.
5. Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive team culture among student-athletes.
6. Monitor and evaluate players' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
7. Collaborate with other coaching staff to coordinate team strategies, match schedules, and tournament participation.
8. Attend team meetings, conferences, and workshops to stay updated on coaching techniques, rules, and regulations.
9. Maintain accurate records of student-athlete attendance, performance, and progress.
10. Collaborate with academic advisors to ensure student-athletes meet academic requirements.
11. Comply with all applicable policies, guidelines, and regulations set forth by the athletic department, college/university, and relevant sport governing bodies.
12. Assist with recruiting talented student-athletes by evaluating potential prospects and participating in recruitment events.
13. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with student-athletes, coaching staff, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
14. Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices, matches, and travel.
15. Stay updated on current trends and advancements in golf coaching techniques and strategies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field (preferred).
2. Proven experience as a Golf Coach or playing at a competitive level.
3. Deep knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and strategies.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.
8. Understanding of the student-athlete experience and commitment to their overall development.
9. Ability to maintain composure and make effective decisions under pressure.
10. First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
11. Knowledge of NCAA/NAIA regulations and compliance (preferred).
12. Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if travel is required).
